2007 S550 full computer reset while driving!
I have a 2007 S550 4matic with roughly 80k miles. Recently the car's computer system has been resetting while I am driving on the highway. The entire dash and nav system and even headlights turn off then turn back on as if just starting up the car. No issues with the engine while driving but this is a very concerning issue. MB Dealership could not find anything.
It happens on average about twice a week after driving about 10 or 15 minutes but doesn't to appear to follow a pattern.
ANYONE know of any similar problems with this vehicle OR any advice?
This is a safety concern for me at the moment. I feel a wiggle in the steering wheel as the car is resetting itself...

Bad connection to the computer. If I had to guess. It's a wiring problem somewhere. Loose connection, etc will definitely show this type of behavior. I've seen it on Audis, Fords, Chevys, etc.. always the same issue. A loose wire. Especially if it's erratic.
Here's an easy way to test it. Start up car.. drive on ultra smooth road bet there's no problem. Take it over rough road or make a couple of hard turns and if it happens, it's a connection most likely. It could also be a bad ground (duh.. electrical problem.. I'm being redundant)..
It's not your alternator due to the fact that both batteries are charging. Just my .02
Hope this points you in the right direction. Let us know how it turns out.
If it's your harness.. let me know.. I can hook u up.

oh.. almost forgot.. tracking down electrical problems is a royal pain in the ***.. just have patience, get a circuit tester and a multi-meter. Learn how to use it. If you don't know or have the desire to do the back-tracking to figure it out, the best place to go other than a dealership is a HIGH-END (notice how it's in caps?) car audio shop. They have the tools and know how to take your car apart properly and it's always cheaper than a dealership.
Best Buy / Geek Squad does not count.
While you're in there doing that work, you might as well enable Video In Motion.
**UPDATE** - Sorry for the constant updates, but things keep popping into my head. If it happens while idling, it's a bad transistor or capacitor component on one of the boards. Either get a GOOD Electrical Engineer friend to diagnose the faulty component and replace it or replace the whole part (pretty pricey).

S55 console command issue
I am experiencing the same issue with my 08 S550, except the headlights dont go off. The cars display is in a constant state of rebooting and shutting down while driving. There is no control over the radio or volume buttons.
Any input on things to check is appreciated.
