2014 S - Class

Just test drove a 2013 and the ride was heavenly! I do agree that the 18" give the most comfortable ride vs anything larger and the diesel has earth moving heaps of torque! Excellent job MB!

If this is true,
I'm sold on the 2014!

What's up with the overtaking on the right business? Is this an European centric issue? In the Washington DC area so many people hog the left lane driving slow. I just stay in my lane and drive the normal speed of traffic irregardless of who drives slow on the left lane. Would the next generation Distronic actually slow down if someone is driving slower than the speed of traffic on the left lane?

great Q?

all these gadgets and technology makes my heart race. Just think 30 yrs ago we were adjusting carburators and in 1885 ( 128 years ago cars had just been invented by benz)

In Germany, overtaking on the right is illegal on the autobahn. There are loads of cameras to record any illegal activity, and people that drive slow in the fast lane are almost pushed over to the right. People are very aggressive.

That's very interesting. Here in TX the rule seems to be as follows.

Left Lane 80-85MPH
Next Lane to right is 70-80
Next Lane over is 65-70
Far Right Lane is the posted speed limit

Given the number of full size pick-up trucks that are barreling down the highway in the left lane with Steel bumpers in the front and back. Not too many people hang out in the Left lane if they don't want to speed.

Put myself on the 2014 S wait list...

I am on the list for their first S600. I hope it comes out in the first round after the launch edition.

Take a look at these most recent spy photos. You can see the entire interior.

This is really interesting?

The gearbox will be mounted longitudinally under the S-Class. It will be adaptable to just about every kind of drivetrain ranging from an entry-level turbodiesel mill to a powerful gasoline engine. It will be used in both rear- and all-wheel drive models and even the hybrid variant is expected to be equipped with it.

After debuting in the S-Class, the nine-speed gearbox will likely trickle down to other members of the Mercedes-Benz lineup.

* any techies or mechanics out there have $0.02 about this?

Some more interior photos (I couldn't get LovinMercedes' link to work). I'm very excited for the W222!
