adding a bulb on the pre face lift tail light to light up the top?

adding a bulb on the pre face lift tail light to light up the top?
I like the facelift tail lights only at night when they are on but I think they look boring in the day time. But it's the other way around with the pre facelift. I like the color coded strip but thinks it's boring at night with a strip of lights on the bottom and the top only comes on when braking.
I'm thinking of drilling a hole on the bottom of the tail light to fit a wedge bulb socket in there with some brigto make the top light up as well. I think the bottom row are LED but should be 12v as well right? Would it screw up any of my sensors?
Another option is to see if I can locate a socket similar to the top that's for a dual filament bulb and tap into the wires. Any idea on what type of bulb are the front? I know on side has a rear fog light so this my be a problem.
