My S550 has 115,000 miles on it, and I use it daily.
When I accelerate in the vehicle after turning it on and letting it sit for 5 minutes there is a shudder or strong vibration or play underneath the center console - seems like a bushing or driveshaft bearing but I have no idea.

It is now my third time back at the stealership and I told them clearly what it is doing and they told me my control arms have play and that is my issue. O

They also offered to install the old control arms at no cost if it isn't the issue.. Sounds like a solid deal to me - Turns out it wasn't the control arms and they have no idea what it is.

Anyone familiar?

To my opinion its your engine-mounts; seems a common issue as far as I have read on this forum.

I assumed that was the issue as well and replaced them and it was not the problem.

The dealership swore it was the control arms, and replaced them, and the problem still is there.

I think it's a flex disc or center bearing. Drive shaft related.
I'll let you know later today.

where you able to find the culprit? On my old 124 I had a drive shaft center bearing causing a vibration.

im having the same problem with mine. 2008 s550 63k miles. any idea what it is? please help

Had very similar issues with my 2008 S550. Vibration under acceleration, more pronounced when the car is first started. Creaking, squeaking, etc. over every bump, very loud.

Had motor and transmission mounts replaced as well as sway bar some kind of steering linkage. Would need to pull the receipt to see it. Now it drives smooth and sweet.

I have a 2003 S500 with an issue of squealing noise from center/rear of vehicle while driving over bumps, low speeds, highway speeds..etc. just started this morning out of no where. I looked under the vehicle and can see nothing. No vibration felt still drives smooth. Thinking it might be the center support bearing but did not know if that sounds familiar with that part failure. I am taking it in for a tire repair tomorrow. Will take a look while its up and if I do see something I will definatly let you know.

replaced engine mounts and tranny mounts, its normal now.

Hey bro how much did the parts cost and what was the labour time that was billed? I think I have the same issue... when I'm accelerating from like 1500 - 2000 RPM there's a vibration heard and felt in the steering wheel.
