D1

while driving my 550 seems to go into D1 once in a while? i then have to stop the car put it into park to get it into D-- any suggestions? maybe i am hitting something to make this happen? any thoughts or comments?

perhaps when you grab the steering wheel, you're probably inadvertently pressing on the downshift button (back of steering wheel on the left). it happens to me once in a while.
to get it back in to D press the upshift button till it gets in to D (back of the steering wheel on the right). all can be done on the fly without parking.

Used when you want to control transmission yourself. It allows you to manually choose gears using the paddle shifters.
D1 first gear
D2 second gear
D3 third gear, etc..
