Center Console wont stay closed

2007 W221, the top to the center console doesn't stay closed reliable. I can get it to stay shut for a while but the first time I bump it with my elbow or something it flies up. Is there an adjustment in the latch mechanism? If it helps it always opens towards the passenger seat when it opens on its own.

Have you considered not bumping the release with your elbow? I am not sure if the latch can be adjusted, but, there may be.

A fair question and I should have been clearer in my description. I'm not bumping the latch, I meant that if I bump the console cover it opens. Or if I hit a pothole unexpectedly. Or if the wind changes direction

The latch does a poor job of keeping it closed, and feels like that whatever peg or lip that the latching mechanism grabs on to is worn.

I have the same problem.

The pins will not stay in the hole or spring in to the hole.
It was not designed well to fix if it brakes over time.

Dealer told me I would have to buy the whole console I just LOL
Then next time told them to look at just the lid and tray.
They told me the parts and instal would be I think he told me $1200
DOnt know y they cant just fix the lid.

Its not hard to take the lid off just know there are springs on the pass side.

You will need to replace armrest - part 2216800939 (320 in diagram) - need VIN to supply color code i.e. black 9E24. MSRP $555 to comparison shop new parts.com $398.40 this eBay ad (used) shows part in detail http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Ben...-/130627232380
