Anyone figure how to use the RCA AUX input?

Anyone figure how to use the RCA AUX input?
I have an IPOD cable coming out of the right and an RCA input on the right. When I switch to AUX my dash tells me to plug an IPOD in. Well I don't want to use my IPOD I would like to use the RCA input shown here. Based on the color, it's telling me that I can actually stick a portable DVD player as well? But all I really want is to plug in my android phone to play music from this input. Does anyone have both the IPOD cable and this plug? How do I get it to work?

I used to use those, with the apple adapter and my iPhone 4 to play movies. Believe I selected the source under 'video', not 'audio', so maybe select it under 'video' and try using your phone that way.

AUX video comes from the Video menu as mentioned above but I'm afraid the iPod interface steals the audio lines, the head unit has only one pair of line inputs (right/left audio).

That's a bummer. Would it be as simple as unplugging the Ipod interface and hooking the AUX input back for things to work or do I have to get the command unit program of some sort?

There are adapters that allow you to use the iPod cable as regular AUX. What you want is for the iPod plug to convert to AUX and then plug that into the device. Most adapters are the reverse, converting the iPod slot on the iPod to AUX to plug into cars that don't have native iPod connectors.
