Any issues 08 S550?

I am considering a 2008 MB s550 w 44k miles. I hear issues of brake squeaks and motor mounts, anything else I should check for? Cream puff plus only$38k. I am worried deal is too good to be true but dealer is well regarded w MB trained shop techs/garage in site.

Opinions and pitfalls??

You must get an extended Warranty! You are at the point where things require changing.

Standard would be the suspension struts and or pump, suspension parts generally.
Some have issues with their transmission.
Depending if present, the active seats, bladders ,controllers.
These car are built like a tank but need their due maintenance.
Make sure its been serviced timely and properly.
If you are not going drive it say more then 10k miles a year and have a good Indy or can DIY, I would save the money for the extended warranty for repairs.Chance is you 'd break even or better.

My '08 S550

Got mine last year for $50k with 24k miles. Here are some of the issues I dealt with:

1) Wind noise coming from the driver side window when driving > 65mph

2) Both front Leather seats squeaking like hell - fixed by dealer with felt tapes

3) Front suspension noise - turned out to be a damaged sway bar. Dealer fixed for free

4) Very selective Bluetooth pairing with phonessI had to buy a separate bluetooth puck ($250 on eBay)

5) Dealer diagnosed transmission noise..- dealer replaced ENTIRE transmission. (This is most likely a racket on their part to squeeze money out of my car's existing warranty). My car now has brand new transmission after only 25k miles? I know for sure my trans was perfectly normal.

Electricals and electronics are all intact even after 5 years. No other mechanical noise or issues observed. I think the '08 is generally problem free. Mine was assembled in Sept. '07 but sold as 2008 model. Hope this helps.BTW, being an '08 model you'll have till Dec. this year to get the 2 yr extended warranty. I suggest you buy the warranty as well.Well worth the peace of mind.
