I have a 2010 S550. I called Firestone to get it aligned and they said they couldn't do it (need authorized dealer to do it). I called another shop and they said they'd do and couldn't see why it would be different than any other car. Does anyone know the answer? Do I need to go to the dealer? I really don't want to mess up the alignment but going to the dealer is difficult (far away).
I think I'll just take it to the dealer. Might be a few more bucks but at least I'll have peace of mind.
Why you have to take to any other place rather than your MB dealer ?. They know the car, they had the correct alignment machine for MB, I do not trust any place than my MB dealer to do alignment (even I hear that roadforce for balancing the rims, but I am not aware that they have the correct alignment machine (specially for MB). My MB dealer price is $149.00 for alignment, but they bill me ONLY $99 for 4 wheels alignment of my 2008 E350 (I did after Costco replaced the 4 Michelin tires, Costco offer me $59 for the alignment, I said NO, I will take of it @ my MB dealer).
Years ago, the tires shop align my 1995 C280 (after changing the tires), It pull to the right, after couple of fix, my C280 go straight, but after 5K, I checked the tires, front passenger tire worn out the inner side, rather even. MB dealer redo the alignment, no pulling, no worn out 1 side more than the other. I learn my lesson since, NO more Mickey mouse shop to align my Benz.
