COMMAND not functional - no audio but nav works
#101
Update on my "Device Unavailable" issue, I took my car to audio tech (local) they spent 2.5 hours the out come was head unit, so I looking on line for a head unit now not a amp. It seems they are both around the same price, I guess we can't go anywhere for now so I'll spend my money local.

Before you spend money on buy other bypass the siriusxm module, sometimes the module goes bad due the liquid damage. Also you can repair the amp, is cheaper.
#105
You need to buy this bypass and use it with the siriusxm module, if you audio work, the module is bad, remember once you bypass the siriusxm you will only have audio with cds or usb. If the problem still even with the bypass, keep bypassing the voice comand module. No sound you amp may be mad.

you just join the fibre optic loop together missing out one module at a time to see if the rest springs back to life (once a defective module isn't interrupting the flow), of course comand can't be looped out

Amp
The bypass didn't work on my post face S550. I went to local tech they couldn't figure it out ended up going to MB they scanned and replaced the Amp. This seems to be a common problem with 2010 Selassie it's my third Amp
#112
Thanks, I havn't had chance to try to loop yet. However, I have noticed that the amps fan is not spinning around, the amp IS getting warm and the amp does have an illuminated red light coming from inside...
#113
Can someone please tell me. I am seeing 'Device Unavailable' and have no sound. If I bypass amp and the amp is at fault, obviously I know I will still get no sound but should the functions work instead of saying device unavailable? Or, will I still see 'Device Unavailable' because the amp is now looped out of the system?
Thanks
Thanks

HK Logic7
Hi,
just gotten my Amplifier back from Naviteam in Poland as i had no sound. I put the unit back in yesterday and nothing has changed.
I can use the satnav but no radio/volume/voice commands or rotary dial still not working.
I have a fibre optic loop and disconnected each of the units one by one and no joy so far. I did just check without the link in that i was seeing a red light in each of the units and i do see that for each unit, however i do not see a red light coming from the optical cable that comes from the command unit in the front. Could my issue be an optical cable or faulty command?
I will have a better look over the weekend but its so frustrating!!

sounds annoying - amp repairs are a lucky dip - the only time it works long term is when its a new unit - borrow another amp and test again
#117
If i knew someone in the gatwick airport area i could ask, but to be honest, if i did borrow one and then that one stopped working through some other fault it would cost me a new AGW and still not have mine working. The joys of ownership!
I have just tried to download a technical service manual online, paid for it but the bloody links not working. Awaiting a reply from 'workshopmanuals.org'.....anyone used them before?

big or small amp (8 x 8 x 3" or guessing 14 x 10 x 3") - Note: USA only got the worse sounding large amp - Europe had the choice - But they both die regardless
the easiest thing to try is another amp - lingautronic module appear to give similar fault and the DAB is claimed to do the same...
if you have the funds Comandonline at LightWater surrey isn't far - very nice bunch - try ringing and asking if they have one you could test - they die from age not being connected or disconnected - these guys are pricey but UKs most knowledgeable Genuine Merc interior toy shop fitters https://www.commandonline.co.uk/

I have the big BE7021 logic7 unit.
I will also give the guys in surrey a call monday. Weather permitting i will do some diagnosing myself first. What i need to get is a fibre optic schematic and so far not found one. I will prob just trace most of it out anyway and sketch it down.
What i do need to know, where does the fibre optic 'originate' from?
i have a red light in every unit in the boot just no light coming from the front of the car. I also need to make sure the fan is running and the red power light is on firstly. Before it went for repair it was definately not working and no fibre optic light seen. Now it is fully glowing.
I will persevere, as if anything, it could give info for others.......like sooooo many before!

found this useful bit today
In MOST systems, the in cable will have an arrow on the
connector pointing toward the component, and flashing red
light will be emitted. The out cable will have no light when
unplugged from the component (but light may be emitted
from the component), and an arrow pointing away from the
component. The out cable will pass along the light to the
next component once the connector is plugged back in.
MOST is configured in series as a loop, and the
information is transmitted in only one direction.
The MOST master issues an electrical wake-up signal to each
component and, in return, the component then issues an
optical confirmation that it received the signal. If the MOST
master does not receive the optical return message back, it
then flags this as a fault in the “Check of Wake-Up Line to
the MOST Components” report.

success!
Ok, some good news, for once!
I initially stated that my repaired Logic7 agw/amp was not working.
Well, after poking around, i remembered that i had played around with the fibre optic cables to bypass other units, (as i had no link at the time) so i decided to give another go.
Yup, like soooo many things, human error.....I had put the optics the wrong way round. Simple but easily done and i have sent an email to NAVITEAM in Poland to thank them for a good repair.
Just wated to share that and hope all you other guys get a successfull conclusion for your AGW units

was playing with mine this week.... seems if the order is wrong nothing happens... xentry suggests you can reconfigure the order and tell it that's the order you want - but then it tells you nope you can't - on mine DAB comes before the TV
