Squeaky brakes

Hello All,

I got an annoying problem... squeaky brakes
Thanks to the stealer..i had to replace the front calipers, pads and discs costing me a fortune.

soon afterwards this problem started

Now my car makes a loud squeak when I brake, when it is cold. Tends it ease off when it gets warmer. Called the specialist who did the job. He has not inspected it, but is planning to strip and clean (the brake of course ;-))
I am not keen for it be taken apart all the time and certainly not keen to dish out more dough.

Is the strip and clean needed? I read that this would cause a perpetual problem of more strip and clean. is this true?

Not sure whether they put the lubricant. Can it be done now without taking everything part?
thanks

I never had folk like you come to my shop/s otherwise I might be wealthy.
The repairer needs to re-do & fix the problem @ his cost.
A few dabs of silicon on the rear of the brake pad mating against the piston can cover a lot of these issues, that are really vibration related.

Have you brake-ed in your new pads and rotors ,might have braked too hard/hot at start ,so glazing of the pads and burning of the disks have developed ,before the material has settled to their new fysical conditions.

Btw M-B recommends ceramic grease for installing brake pads etc.

Bed or re-bed them in..do a search...in short 10-15 hard brake applications frrm 60 to near zero to get rotors super hot then drive till cool

No marthyh, I drove with a feather foot as I was testing a tuning chip-in fact was testing the fuel efficiency (I acheived 42mpg!). But thanks.

I also have this break noise problem. It started immediately after replacement of discs and pads, and is of course very irritating. I am told by my MB-dealer that the source of the problem is rust on the brake discs.
This may be correct. I can clearly see rust on the discs. It develops very quickly (overnight).
Does anyone know if there are "rust-proof" brake discs available for this car?

Your MB dealer is taking you for a goose. Did this Dealer fit the new parts? First daily application that surface rust is gone for the rest of the day.
