Problem with the interior lights

The interior lights and the lights in the doors don't turn on automatically when I open one of the doors.
The lights starts to work when I turn the ignition on. They also work when I stop the car and turn of the ignition.
If I try again after the car has gone into "sleep mode" it won't work. I have to turn the ignition on again to get it work.
Does anyone have experienced this problem and have some advice or a solution?
Have had this when the acc. battery was empty ,also my keyless entry would not work and I had to use the key to get in.After charging the battery (driving for some time) everything came back to life.

I have not been able to check the battery in the trunk yet. I can't find the battery anywhere in trunk(!).
Do anybody know where the consumer battery is located?

But I can't figure how to remove the panel behind the seat?

The light did not work this morning after driving 180 km yesterday, so I'm going to check the battery next.
Not a big issue, but very annoying

I have checked it allready, I was not the switch.I've been in touch with MB today. They said that it could be the some wrong with the CAN bus. The CAN bus shuts down the light. When I turn on the ignition LIN takes over and turn the lights back on.
It seems like I have to connect the car to a Star unit to sort this out.
