s550 Door will not latch closed
I have s550 2011
The drivers door will not latch closed, it closes but will not click shut.
All the parts are in the right place, the spindle catches on the locking bar like the passenger but will just not click shut
the passenger you can move the bar with a pen and it clocks and latches closed, the drivers just releases and falls open again
does anyone know if this is mechanical or electronic (the part that latches closed)
When I move the catch manually I can hear a click from the car electronics which tells me that at least part of it is electronic
I an buy another form ebay for $200 as long at its pretty sure the latch itself is faulty
any advice welcome

The soft close should kick in after the first click and suck the door in. What codes are you getting on DAS?

might not be related, but I was having similar issue for the longest time. Replace the battery on the key and it fixed the problem. It makes no sense why they're related issues but it fixed for me.
