UK S320 FM static, any ideas
I have a 2007 S320, all was fine with the radio until one day it just switched to static on all FM channels
strangely, it finds new channels when I travel town to town, even in France, fines the french ones, but all just play static
AM MW are all fine
Ran the tests in star diagnostics, it checks MW and VHF etc for DB reception, even asks me to remove fuse 131 during the test.
MW comes up strong, all the FM tests show 0 DB, first I thought it was the antenna amplifier under the roofliner at the back so I replaced it, same problem
Star has concluded that the rear window is at fault. Is the FM antenna built into the rear window? if so is my only option to replace the entire window?
I'm assuming the UK version don't have separate tuners in the trunk, I also have an S550 in FLorida and that has the sirius HD radio unit in the trunk, would be easier if that, I'd find some kind of aftermarket FM aerial.
would appreciate any ideas or clarification of the potential fix here
