My new S550...And my Build Thread
Sold my 1yr old S550 after I experienced how crazy it is to have a non-4matic S550 in Canadian winter. Contemplated buying a 2010 but could not pass up on the offer for this car. Drove 5hrs from Toronto to Montreal to up this fully loaded 2007 4matic S550 few weeks ago. Owner just bought a W222. Extremely happy with the purchase for a few reasons:
1.Price I paid was a steal
2.One owner car
3. Fully serviced at Mercedes all its life
4. Has a gazillion more features than my previous s550: Night Vision, Dynamic seats, panoramic roof, 4matic, Rear climate Control, rear passenger shades, Front Ventilated seats.
With the exception of the rear climate control blowing extremely hot air when set to cold, car is in exceptionally great condition. I have done some research and found the issue with the rear climate control is the heater exchange control valve.Will get to it whenever, I rarely carry anyone in the back seats anyways.
White has never been my first choice for any car but I fell in love when I saw this one in person. A little too flashy as it stands out everywhere. But I love it.
I will be using this thread as my official build thread, AND also to detail whatever i encounter in the process of the build in hopes of helping others that might be looking to do the same.I plan on doing a 2010+ facelift but not the popular AMG facelift. I will be doing a 2010+ sport kit.Along with headlights etc.i already slapped on my old Vossens. Tints are next. AMG badge is going...am not a poser. I will replace it with the standard 4matic badge.
I noticed plenty are skeptical whether staggered rims can be used on the 4matic. And what tires if so.
Well, the rims are 20x9 in front and 20x10.5 at the rear. tires are 255/30/20 Front and 275/35/20 at rear. Will be changing the fronts to 255/35/20 soon. Current size works just fine but more cushion without losing anything is better as anyone would agree. Drove 9hrs from Toronto to New York yesterday. no problems whatsoever.Slight vibration at 120km/hr but beauty comes at a price.
Enough talk...couple of unprofessional dirty pics of car.

Pulled out the parts intended to go on my previous s550.
Have the facelift 2010+ s550 sport front bumper and mirrors being painted. Facelift taillights are also on order.
Also got the AMG pedals, clear side markers,and LED DRL light. Shopping for facelift headlights also.
Can someone please tell me if the led DRL i have are the right ones for the 2010+ sport bumper? Cause I remember when I gave them to my body shop guys last year for my previous bumper, he said they didn't fit. I got them from China.Am hoping there are not for the C class. or non-sport 2010+ s550...That would be a few hundreds wasted.
For the rear, i think i might just get a 2007-2009 s63/65 diffuser since it is plug n play for my rear bumper.
