Home Link garage opener very week

My garage door opener in the rear view mirror is very weak. I have trouble opening the garage door, sometimes having to go back and forth in the driveway. Any suggestions, or similar problems?

There is a coating on/in the window glass that greatly decreases the range of HomeLink. The range of the Homelink system is dismal compared to vehicles with regular glass. This is a known issue and there really is nothing that can be done other than get closer to the door.

Yep and it sucks. Or you can do what I do and use x10 to open your door from your iPhone.

Same thing here. I tried moving the antenna of my reciever but it did not seem to make any difference. I almost have to be touching the door with my front bumper to get it to open. I also have to hold the button down for at least 10 seconds. I wonder if the 222 has the antenna outside the car or if it suffers from the same issue?

I've read multiple posts about people complaining about the issue.

To me this is a non issue as I've noticed it with my previous 7 series models. I would say that Lexus makes the best and the car doesn't even have to be on for it to work.

Totally agree...My IS350 can open the garage door from the end of my street and I don't even have to have the key fob on me for the buttons to work. Linking to the vehicle gate and the garage door was much easier than in any other car I've owned.

Not to get off topic but the voice recognition was better in 2006 on a Lexus then it is in an S Class from 2012. If I say "warmer" it will adjust the temp up one degree and "cooler" down one. Of course you can actually say the exact degree you want and it reports it is setting the temp to XX degrees. I really like the "go home" and "I'm hungry" commands.

Lexus does not do everything perfectly but they do seem to have the tech dialed in...

I have 2 garage doors that are adjacent to each other and I don't have an issue with range, guess I'm lucky..

My wife's Gl can open the garage from 100 ft away. Are the window coating different in that car than the S class?
