Coin dropped in A/C vent
Hi everyone. A dumb question.
My daughter yesterday dropped a coin in the front passenger A/C vent. It seems the coin had gone down inside.
Is it going to harm the blower or any other a/c function? Can i remove it by taking out the cabin filter?
Your advice is apprciated.

Given the labyrinth of all the cooling/heating coils, flaps, etc. I really doubt it will make it to the cabin filter or blower, etc. Most likely it just fell on the floor of some internal duct/housing. The worst it can do is block some flap from opening/closing but even then it will settle down on the floor eventually. So I wouldn't worry about it.
Here is a link (w220 but should be same for w221 as well):

This has to be one of the most complex air conditioning systems ever installed in a car. It even includes a sun sensor. I suspect the W221 system is more complex and the W222 is even more complex. Based on the information supplied by androdev, any repairs to this system should only be performed by someone with extensive training. It also looks like repairs could easily exceed several thousand dollars. Luckily there have been no reports of major failures from other members.
