2007 S550 with high pitch noise during fast acceleration/higher RPMs
I am having an interesting issue and wanted to know if it was common/normal.
I just had a transmission service and now when I really give the car some foot and get the RPMs up/accelerate quickly, I hear an almost electric sounding high pitched noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side of the hood. The only reason I say "electric sounding" is because it almost sounds like a remote control car does when it gets going fast.
I never heard this noise before I got the transmission service, is it associated with it? Normal? Should I be concerned driving my car?
Thanks in advance for any insight or help.

I'll take it back to the shop that did my transmission service first thing on Monday, is it safe to drive until then?
So you're saying that if the transmission fluid level was incorrect it could make that noise?

it might not be related to the transmission at all. Could be one of your pulleys. They make that kind of sound once the bearings are shot.
relatively cheap part to replace.

Appreciate the input you two, the shop is taking a look at it today.
Will report back with the findings in case anyone else runs in to a similar noise.

As a follow up for you guys, problem fixed, it ended up being the transmission fluid level. Definitely an odd issue and not sure how the fluid level was causing a high pitch whistling/whining noise.

That's definitely odd as you said but must be cheaper fix than your thread title suggests and I appreciate your feedback as well

UPDATE:
Noise not fixed. After they redid the fluid level yesterday we could not duplicate the noise after 5-6 tries and seemed gone. From a cold start this morning, first time I gave it some gas, heard the noise loud and clear again.
Back to square one I guess.. any other thoughts? Mechanic said it wasn't a common noise and didn't sound like a pulley/bearing. He actually said he hadn't heard the noise before.
