No power steering on '07 S550 4-MATIC

I have a 2007 S550 4-MATIC. There's a problem that when I drive the car past 20kph the steering goes hard after the ESP/ABS unavailable/inoperative pops up on the screen. The power steering is still there when I'm backing up and driving under 20kph though.

My mechanic replaced the sensors on the wheel and it's all working but the message won't go away and the steering is still messed up. The steering didn't used to go hard when the message popped up before, it just started happening 2 weeks ago, and I've had the message on since the middle of July. Are there any solutions to fix this? Thanks.
