You want to know a German brand with universally crappy, hard seats in cheap leather? Audi. Just terrible. Here's the pitch from the salesman as we're shopping for a $62.000 Q7 for my wife.
Me: Damn, the seats in that thing are like rocks. What's Audi's problem?
Sales Guy: That's actually a safety feature! They want the drivers to be alert at Autobahn speeds.
Another German brand with lousy seats (and not great interiors in general): BMW. Every time I'm in the market I test drive a Bimmer, because they're beautiful looking cars and great performers, and every time I buy another S Class.

I love the leather on mine. My previous W220 had the worst seat cushion ever. Gave an *** rash lol. Too bad my S550 does not have massage. Why can't they make that damn thing standard??? 
Do S550s with lumbar have the massage bladders inside or do you need them fitted on?
