So I noticed a burned oil smell coming from the front end every time the car starts to heat up. I took a look at it and behind the passenger side air box in between the firewall I can see a leak with a perfect path to drip on to the catalytic converter with evidence of burned oil. Where could the leak be coming from? This black plastic device? Or some sort of O-ring that needs to be replaced? Has anyone seen this before? Can anyone identify these parts?

 

Could it be these cam plugs? How so I know it's not this centrifuge thing?

 

I'm convinced that this is my culprit. Does anyone know how many cam plugs on my 2007 s550 base 5.5? I hear they are only on the passenger side. Part numbers?
