However, the illuminated star looks cheesy.. Not something I would put on my w221... I think this option was squarely aimed at th Middle Eastern clientele.

 

The illuminated star is definitely an acquired taste and not everyone will like the mod. However I need to update the pictures as the current photos serve it no justice. I fu@#ing love this thing and when the vehicle is in motion nothing says cutting edge like the illuminated star. Cheers!

There are so many pictures of my car floating around on the internet it's insane lol. I actually bought the illuminated star from Keenan which is a MB dealer on eBay. Or you can actually buy the part directly from the MB dealership. Since they don't sell one for the W221 you'll have to purchase a different star. Installed mine on 2012 S550 with Distronic and no error messages.
