Quick Lug Nut Question

I have a 2007 S550 4Matic, Factory 18" Wheels. I went to put on my 22's last night and the lug nuts didn't really hold the wheel down at all, figured this was the wrong lug nut for the wheel. I did some research and found out there is a CONE seat and BALL seat type of lug nut. My lugs looked like they are BALL seat and the new wheels require a CONE seat lug nut to sit perfect. How can I confirm ball is what I need and what is the "technical" term so I can tell the boys at the tire shop what I need.

Thanks ahead of time and sorry if this has already been covered, i searched and couldn't find the right answer.

Depends on the wheels. OEM take a "Mercedes Ball" and most aftermarket wheels for Mercedes take an "Audi Ball" which is slightly different. You'd need to get ahold of the vendor or manufacturer for your wheels to determine what kind of lug seat yours have.

Use cone seat on those wheels.

The oem star looking lug bolts are too long.
I think the shank length is around 28mm.

Depends on the weather
Correct and most tire places don't carry those lug nuts, you have to get them online or have them order them..at least in this area.
