My 2012, bought used, is my DD for city and especially HWY. About to start back half of 600 mi RT in a few minutes. zero HWY issues. Car has 50+K mi and never leaves comfort setting. Super sonic brick on glass! Could not be more pleased. Meets all expectations.

Post trip update. 294 mi. Avg 66 mph (never got over 85). 25.7 mpg.

Depends on the weather
Florida to MD. Good gas mileage for a V12.

That's impressive! I thought that the V12 would have been much worse. (I want one soooooo bad)

Missouri to Minnesota and back over Labor Day weekend. 700 miles each way.

Love the car. The three screaming kids in the backseat ....

I average 24 mpg. But I also have a bit of a lead foot.

I typically drive (twice a year) the 1300 mile trip from Detroit to Naples straight through in 17 to 18 hours. Last year was the final "straight through trip" and I now intend to stop overnight in Atlanta going south. I driven the trip in W 220's (one time with the S55 burying the speedo between Tampa and Sarasota at 3 AM) and the last 3 or 4 times in CLK s (Both W 208 and W 209 cabriolets). This will be the first trip in the W 221 and I'm looking forward to the drive. I've never experienced a better car than the W 220 and 221 for long highway drives.

So did I. It's amazing how great the mileage can be if I am not being heavy on the gas.

"Great mileage" and "S600" used in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

2013 S550
Alaska to Texas has me beat. As I have mentioned in other threads, I purchased my 2013 S550 4Matic (58,000mi) in early 2020 right before lockdowns. I found my car at a dealership in Fredricksburg, Virginia, flew out there, purchased the vehicle, and drove it all the way back to Seattle. I drove through the middle portion of the country (Missouri, Kansas, etc) as I've done a number of cross country trips but never through some of those states. Total miles if I recall 3,192. Averaged 25.5mpg doing 80mph most of the way. Not a single issue other than warning to add/check Oil around 2,200 miles as I rolled into Snowville, UT just before the Idaho border. Added two quarts and never saw the message again. And haven't since.

For anyone curious as to what you might miss by not taking the interstate through the middle of the country, I've attached a photo of what the country looks like from St. Louis to Denver (850mi).

That Alaska trip must've been incredible. My dad and I did Scottsdale to Milwaukee and back last summer. With detours it was about 3,700 miles. Loved every second of it and my car didn't miss a beat.
