S Class gets noticed...
Ok so heres a fun thread.
I find it humorous that when pulling up somewhere, people look.
At my sons Hockey game or daughters Figure Skating practice I drop them at the door and always get a look. Also one time walking out to my car at a restaurant parking lot my Benz and a Jeep were at the end of the walk and a guy pulling up in a F150 after parking walked over to the right side of the walk for me to enter the Jeep.... I said sorry im on this side pointing to my car.
I dress casual most if not always and see guys in business clothes at lunch or a gas station looking at me, probably thinking... WTF!?!.
Wife and kids think its funny...anyone else having fun with this?

I get compliments literally all the time on the 600...not as much as the 550..but I don't drive it much these days anyway. When I start it up or I'm pulling in somewhere the growl from the V12 gets peoples attention. I can't hear it inside the car but I have notice it now when I see people turn their heads. I also get a lot of "wow, that has a V12" or "That is a beautiful car I never see these". I find it funny that an 8 year old car can draw so much attention.
...and when people ask to see inside, they get even more amazed. I'm still amazed honestly that a car this old has some of the features that it does that you see on new cars now.

Haha yeah definitely happens to me. I take my son to his bus and there are two F01 drivers with their kids sitting next to them parked waiting for the bus to arrive. One of them reclines all the way low in the seat waiting and just stares at the Andorite Gray Metallic as I pull up while ignoring their kid. Another just remains dumbfounded and loses his sense of direction.

Here in the MD/DC/VA area it's a pretty large car scene from the lambos and ferraris to gtr's and porsches... When the weather is like it is now they are all over the place and on the weekends you can see ferraris and lambos lined up with each other. There are tons of C and E classes and not the S around here. No S class owners clubs though. :-(

Very rare to see any W221's in my neck of the woods. A lot more W220's around here, although even those seem pretty rare. I still haven't seen another S600, although I've seen an S63. I've had a few compliments since I've had this car, but nowhere near as many as I used to get with my Chrysler 300C SRT8. My M5 also garnered significantly more attention than my S600. This does seem to be a pretty stealthy ride.

The fact that you have SUV rims on your s-class might have something to do with it.

I'm the only S class and (refreshed) CLS is my town: I get lots of waves, lots of dirty looks too, and it's not a tiny town......there are other's driving MB's, just not the ones I have.....

Well, interesting thing happened today. A new black SL65 convertible pulled up behind me and then he got on the side of me and asked me what year my car was and was saying how clean it was and we started chatting from the car so we pull over and talked from the car about our cars and he said he just purchased an S63 also and was telling me about an S65 that just came in for sale at a dealer in DC. Nice to see some benz owners that are pretty friendly...most don't talk to each other in this area. I loved the growl of his exhaust.

Funny you should say that. When I showed my SO the black w221 I adopted and told her this is her new inclement weather daily driver she asked me where her limo driver's hat is lol....

I get more compliments on my W221 than W222 - most of them are how good my car looks for 120K+ miles!! And it looks even better now that the front bumper was replaced (as a result of a small accident). The car practically looks new, except for the peeling wheels...
