I'm getting rid of MY08 S550 for a 2012 or 13 s class. Questions, I see some saying blue efficiency and others don't. Whats the difference? Also I see some without the night view assist, what's the camera on the windshield used for in those vehicles not equipped with night view? Also, I don't see the blutooth puck like in MY08 the puck is in the center console. Is this built into comand? Also is the Nav disc update vin coded for these model years? Anyone?

1. Blue efficiency means the car has features like low rolling resistance tires, transmission shift adjustments, different steering pump, engine shut down when stopped, etc that are supposed to help conserve energy and increase gas mileage slightly.
2. The camera is likely for the lane assist feature.
3. You don't need the puck after the facelift. You just pair it to your car through COMAND.
4. Nav discs are VIN coded after the facelift. You'll have to have the dealer order and install nav updates.

The blue efficiency badge was only on the 2012s; but the features remained for 2013.
I wonder if they deleted it to avoid the "Is that a diesel?" questions.
Mine does not have the engine stop at rest feature.
I easily installed the NAV update myself, but you have to get the discs from the dealer.
The only difference that I could see from 2012/2013 was that the Premium 2 package became standard.
The 2012 is an amazing vehicle -- 26 hwy mpg and a hot rod in "S" mode.
