Sorry for no update. Full time student and full time job has been putting a strain on any free time. I actually have this weekend off so I hope to make an attempt then. If not I will have the dealership investigate when the 39k mile transmission service is done.

I had someone suggest that it could possibly be an engine heater?? Hopefully we will know more this weekend.

It is likely used to plug in a battery tender....so that the previous wouldn't have to keep removing the panel to access the accessory battery behind the seat.

probably battery tender is what im guessing. but thats weird to have it like that. on my bikes there a plug to plug the battery tender too. no one i know just leaves the battery tender in the car and plus sticking out.
