R button driver side door

R button driver side door
I've only had my car for 2 months and just noticed there is a button on the drivers side door that shows a picture of a seat and has the letter "R" on it. It's a 2013 S550. What does the button do? Thanks!

If memory serves me right it is to control the passenger seat. Press the R and the drivers side controls will move the passenger seat. I believe it automatically times out after a bit and the controls operate the drivers seat again. Give it a try

It actually controls more than just the seat itself. Mine controls most of the stuff on the passenger door control from the drivers side.
I can turn on and off the heated and cooled seats for example. Try pressing "R" then press your drivers side heated seat button a few times. You will see the passenger side heated see turn on and change levels.
I used it all the time when starting the car.. I can put the seat back to original position (if it was moved front or back) and turn on the heated/cooled seats. So by the time my wife gets in her seat is in the proper spot and at the proper temperature.
I can turn on and off the heated and cooled seats for example. Try pressing "R" then press your drivers side heated seat button a few times. You will see the passenger side heated see turn on and change levels.
I used it all the time when starting the car.. I can put the seat back to original position (if it was moved front or back) and turn on the heated/cooled seats. So by the time my wife gets in her seat is in the proper spot and at the proper temperature.

That is why the car has multiple memory settings. One for the wife, one for the strange, and one just in case.....
