Windshield Needs Replacement (NJ)
Anyone in the NJ/PA area have an installer recommendation other than the dealer for windshield replacement? Dealer quoted me $2300 and doesn't work with the insurance companies. I'm sure I can get it through the dealer with the insurance company if need be id just have to get the check from them direct. Either way I'm considering using my comprehensive insurance to cover this, I just want to make sure that it is replaced with an oem equivalent or factory windshield. If anything else I'm sure the labor would be cheaper even if they had to get the part through the dealer.

^^^Safelite, they work with the insurance company and come directly to your house. I just had mine replaced for free about a month ago.

When I had windshield replacements on my former C-class and E-class, I went to an independent glass vendor/installer and just made sure they acquired and used the actual replacement from the vendor that supplies MB (same glass, no MB decal on it). It was a ton cheaper than the dealer and all I had to do on the E-class, was take the car into the dealer so I could get the MB decal and install it. The dealer's parts team had to visually verify that it was the correct vendor before they would let me purchase the decal. I would imagine that if you go the same route, you may be required to do that same thing. for example, the cost was $1700 bucks for the W212 from the dealer. I got the replacement for $700 including installation and the decal cost.
