Apple Car Play Scam?
This vendor, who appears to be affiliated with *******, just deleted a 30+ post thread when I asked him to provide his name so I could verify the affiliation, because his story sounds fishy.
He's soliciting cash deposits for a group buy pre order for a device that doesn't appear to actually exist. The demo video he posted is from MB showing their new factory Apple Car Play integration. He claims the unit exists but won't be able to provide a video of it in any car, much less the 221, until January when the pre order is supposed to ship.
According to *******s website, they do no direct consumer sales, and there's no indication they have a 3rd party CarPlay retrofit in development, or that they're taking pre-orders.
I just posted in his new thread again asking for his name so I can contact ******* in the morning and corroborate but he keeps deleting my posts.
Steer clear.

But everything in your post indicates you are *******, including your sig. If you're an authorized reseller, then you are not *******. What is the name of your business and your name?

Anyone else find it odd that the ******* website goes out of its way to stress it's a U.S. Company selling only American made products but their "employee" here can't manage to string together a coherent sentence in English?

Jason, have you heard of anything in the pipe from this company as far as a retrofit CarPlay module for older MB? It looks like the company builds a device similar to VIM.

this is a scam. if we can have to fly all the way to ny to see it work. why not just save us the time and money and post video. like i said in the other post you deleted. Im sure someone will fall for this and jump in on your group buy.

Um, you're in my thread. I'll post whether I have a question for you or not. Jason Burtman is a member of the forum. His company is a licensed distributor of aftermarket electronics for Mercedes Benz, including MidCity, which produces a VIM module much like the ******* units.

The point of my posts is to verify your legitimacy and the existence of the product, and to prevent people from sending you money until I've done so. If you're legit it shouldn't be a problem,
