I'm in the market for an 07 S550. I have been doing some research and heard about some early models that didn't have certain options. If I am correct, if you have night vision then you have dynamic seats. I went to see one which was not an early build because it didn't have an antenna on the trunk. I think it was a late 06 build. The car had some neat options like the night vision and the panoramic roof but it was missing the dynamic seats. The seats had the late style headrest and the command system with no DVD video. Would like to know why this was so. TIA

The trunk antennas only came on the early build W221's. IMO, the trunk antenna is great because it far extends the range of the car remote and especially Home Link compared to when they removed it. The pre-face lifted W221's could be dealer ordered with almost any range of options as stand-alone or could be grouped into option packages. In the later face-lifted cars, many of the earlier options became standard equipment. If you choose an S600 or S65, you'll get every option that MB ever threw at an S-class as standard equipment, including some that you can't get in any option packages on an S550. I believe that DVD video can be added with a COMAND software update at the dealer.
Early model years required a Premium 3 package to get massage seats, so if you see a car with NightView assist (also P3) you'll get them. Otherwise just a lumbar adjustment.
In the 2010 facelift, the massage seats became a P1 feature meaning virtually every 2010 up got them. Mercedes consolidated a lot of the most commonly ordered options into the P1 for 2010. In 2011 they included the Drivers Assist package as well, then in 2012 and 13 you also got the new TT V8.
