Ocala is the nearest town south of us. If you come in on 75 you'll pass thru Gainesville.

Crap, that's rough Mike. 2015 wasn't your year at all. Hopefully 2016 is better for you.

I am selling my S class tomorrow. It is starting to cost me too much in issues and the warranty company I have my car covered through is a scam. They keep telling me the issues on my car are not covered in the "fine print". I traded it in for a 2013 S8. I took advice from this group and went with a CPO car from an Audi dealership. I will never look at an aftermarket warranty company again.

It looks like every part for the S class is on back order. I needed a door handle for my car and the dealership told me its on 3-4 weeks back order.

The S8 is a nice jump in performance. Unmodified it's 3.6 sec to 60, and less than 9 sec to 100. The B&O system is supposed to be nice as well, if it has that option. Also it is more understated.

I had a CPO Audi that I also had as a new leased car. They never blinked at fixing or replacing anything.

That's great to hear. Yeah the car has the B&O plus every possible option you can think of.

So Mike, does this little incident make you want to sell the S again? I know you were looking at the 6 series before.

Yes....it would be a big jump in performance from the S550 NA motor. From what I've seen, the 2013 runs 0-60 in around 4.1 - 4.2 sec, putting it pretty well in line with the S600. HP is identical to the S600, but the S8 has about 135 less lb/ft of torque. I have a feeling that if the 600 had a more aggressively shifting transmission, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times could be shaved by .3 to .5 seconds. I think the biggest advantage to the S8 is the AWD, so it hooks every time....whereas the S600 and S65 requires some finesse to get the most out of them. Be prepared for more frequent stops at the gas station.

Enjoy your new ride. It's a nice one.

Thanks man. yeah the engine is way under rated. The S63 started giving a lot of little problems that add up in cost.

I think Mike should start looking into a new beast.

I'm pretty sure he's going to hold onto it until his CPO warranty expires next year.

His S63 is a 2011, but you're right. Quarter mile trip speeds are the same, the difference seems to be off the line, so gearing and traction help the launch.
They should be pretty equally fast, except from a standing start.

The S is getting a little long in the tooth. The creaks and rattles are bringing me down as well as the increasing frequency and severity of the warranty claims. They're paid for but its still demoralizing having to get the thing flatbedded, going to the shop, getting a loaner etc.

Driving something small, lithe and fresh like the little C has definitely got me thinking I should widen my scope for the next car. The new E is on my radar. It drops 1/11/16 at the NYC auto show and it should show up in the MBUSA configurator shortly after.

LoL @ that wealthy infighting. It's almost better than bumfights!

Anyhow, sorry to hear about your year, I surely would have thought MB tackled this airmatic crap. I remember my W220's airmatic struts took a crap about a month into ownership. Went with Arnot (out-of-pocket) and never looked back.
I'm in the market for a W221 now, scouring carfax reports for serviced/replaced transmissions and airstruts hoping the previous poor bloke paved the way for me.

I have a lovely 2010 with a full year of CPO left on it that you might like. No tranny work, although it did just get its 80k tranny service. New tires, brakes, starter, battery, dash cluster and one new strut. . Oh, and around $5k in hidden audio upgrades, S63 OEM wheels plus a spare set of the other style of S63 OEM wheels.
