S500 Mercedes benz
Replaced battery
My battery on my s500 was dead. I left it sitting about a week. I replaced battery two days ago and now my locks don't work with they key. The trunk won't open unless I use fob key, my steering wheel doesn't move when I start the car or shut it off. When I press the lock button on my key the lights flash but nothing happens. When I press unlock it does the same. My hazard lights stay flashing. ...help plz

Also the fob key doesn't unlock or lock doors. If I hold it in key hole and hold it to the right my windows roll down.

If you're able to start the cat ok, then your accessory battery in your trunk is likely fully discharged. You will need to drive around for an hour or more without shutting off the car to recharge it. If that doesn't get things working, then that battery is too far gone or you likely have an issue with your alternator or voltage regulator.

I just got "replace key battery". Anyone know what type of battery the remote takes? I'm sure ebay has a pack of 5 for cheap.

Did some checking and everyone should replace with the 2032 battery. It holds more MAH and it gives a better range and should last longer.

Whoops, I mistyped. Yea 2032. The stock battery for our remotes is a 2025. The 2032 is slightly thicker but will still fit luckily. The other post I linked to above shows others getting longer range from the remote and longer battery life due to the extra mah in the battery.
