It seems best to just drive the S and when it gets a bit chewed up, have it repainted. It looks like it has a wrap already. With a set of winter tires and in raised mode you should get through most weather, likely as much as the ml63. Plus the Ml63 will be new and you'll be more annoyed chipping that up.

Moved my S550 outside to add a bit of stabilizer to the fuel, even though I did in November, lol, cruised around the yard (I have about 3/4 mile of driveway and road around the shops) , I can't trade this for another SUV. First thoughts are to get some road insurance, an enclosed trailer, get this thing south of all the salt, gravel, and sand that's being dumped on the highway right now, and cruise to Vegas. Going to work on a '16 S63, see if that pans out for the spring, man I love an S Class.

Get an AWD version , that way you can enjoy it all year!

I have an awd version, I refuse to expose it to the sand, salt, and gravel that is dumped on the roads 6 months of the year.

Spent 3 hours at the dealership yesterday, drove the ML63, few others goodies, checked out the options, the only thing I'll trade this for is another S class. Pricing out a '16 S63 with very similar matte paint (not on web site), slated for early July arrival if I order. Perfect timing....

If I were you I'd get a lambo or ferrari. Doesn't make sense garaging a Mercedes.

If you do get the S63 then drive it in the winter. How long would you really keep the car for? I bet not long enough for rust to start. You can also rust proof it. I used to garage my luxury cars for winter and get a beater but I figured it didn't make sense as I would only keep a car for a year to 3 years max.

What size wheels do you have on your s550? Looks very smooth in sport mode.

Those are the factory 20's, 255/35-20 Michelin pilot A/S rubber. Smoooooth ride.

Ok, so 20s look the best on in the s550. I really like those wheels in particular. Looks very sleek! Do you know what they are called?

Wow, those aren't cheap! If I had that kind of money I'd move somewhere warm that never saw snow or road salt, at least for the winters.

How about get a CPO S63 and use the difference to buy a condo in Florida😉

Lol some great ideas!!! No idea what the wheels are called, they were part of the "AMG" decor pkg. Condo in Florida sounds perfect, I have a summer home in southern BC, the glk and e550 stay there, LV is sounding like a descent place even with awful exchange. Decided in keeping everything, will add a GTS or SL to the mix....
