Best place to get an alignment

I've searched around quite a bit on this topic... but I'm still a bit confused. So here is what I think... I have a 2012 s550 and the best place to go to for an alignment is the MB dealership but it seems to be a hit or miss for some which kinda worries me. I got a new set of tires but on my old tires the thread wear was even and I don't feel like I need an alignment.

So what do you guys think? find an indy? just got to dealer and let them do one just to be safe? Do you think if I go to the dealer they can just check my car to let me know if one is needed before performing an alignment?

I take my car to a Sears Auto Center to get an alignment. They have state of the art equipment and the print out showing how misaligned the vehicle was is presented in a very easy to understand graphic showing illustrated tire and suspension components. Prices are reasonable depending on how long you want the alignment to be 'warranted' for. I had the alignment covered for 12 months so I can bring the car back for a recheck and realignment anytime during that period at no cost. Plus their hours are more convenient than the MB service center.

There is a video I posted below of how Mercedes does the alignment and then another picture below of the equipment sears uses and it seems to be exactly what the guy in the video is talking about but I don't know how effective the difference is... any thoughts?
