Personally I wouldn't touch either one of them, but if I was going to go that route I'd want something amazing when I came out the other side.
The discussion is moot anyway, you got what you got. Isn't the key coming this afternoon?
It's an S63 with what appears to be damage with no airbag deployment.
The auction closes in 6 hours. Was at about $4,300. Might be in the same cost range to make it roadworthy. It does look like more work though.

It has more enthusiast interest when done. If parted out, lots of desirable parts.
ABC might be a huge headache though. Definitely not boring.
The thread has evolved into three camps. The Naysayers, the Cheerleaders, and the Easily Amused. Of course it's easy to cheer when it's not your money. Any outcome will be entertaining for you. I'd like to see the Cheerleaders put their money where their mouths are, so to speak. There's a GoFundMe account. Donate $50 or $100 if you really believe in this guy and really want to help him. He needs to raise several thousand dollars for the bodywork. Otherwise you're just a spectator at the Colosseum rooting for the slave and ignoring the enormous, hungry lion.
Meanwhile, if me shutting up will somehow help the process, I'll shut up.
Edit, went to the site to donate myself, still not live. There may be another step involved in the other end.

instead A go fund me do like a pay per view/web based program and for a fee you can charge to watch the unveiling live of the "start up"
I'm not being funny I'm serious. I can't wait as I'm a nervous wreck here

So even if it closes out at $8500, there's no assurance the seller will approve and complete the sale.
I thought I saw something in s55's sale that indicated copart, so a quick search on an S63 turned up that car. The shot of the instrument cluster did look suspect, but it is an S63 by VIN. Allegedly "runs & drives".
It makes me think about grabbing a hail damaged late model car for my daughter to use.( not an S63 )
