differences in drivers assistance features
are there any differences in a 2013 w221 equipped with the drivers assistance package and a 2015/2016 e class with the same package?
just wondering if/when there is any upgrades to the drivers assistance package
read somewhere the 2017 e class steers you around objects in the road but not sure when that started
will be buying a new to me car in the next year or so and the main reason for this is drivers assistance stuff
trying to decide between the 2015/2016 e class or a 2012-2013 s350
thanks

this was awesome, thank you konigstiger
so from reading these the 2013 S class vs the 2015 S class only seem slightly different in the drivers assist stuff
led lights vs bi xenon
the intelligent drive seems like it will see pedestrians and animals better? or the 2013 only sees cars?
they imply the camera is different , the stereo camera? and can see 360 degrees around the car in the newer ones
but lane assist, night view, distronic plus all seem the same...
if it not a huge difference i would rather have a 2013 S350 than the newer 4 cyl diesel in the 2015 E class
plus i wanted an S class
anyone with experience with both the older drivers assist and intelligent drive i would love to hear your impressions
thank you

weird, just watched a youtube video of an s class using intelligent drive and the car was driving itself around a neighborhood, etc .....
just read the brochures again, all the individual paragraphs for lane assist, night vision, distronic plus, etc read virtually the same on 2013 vs 2015
but on the 2015 brochure at the top it talks about the car being autonomous
will post on the w212 and w222 forums and see if someone who has owned and used both systems can tell me how much of a difference , but my impression is the intelligent drive will drive itself more than the 2013
i know the intelligent drive has gotten awesome reviews from car magazines etc
this is depressing, i will probably end up with the e class

None of those actually "drives itself". The lane departure brakes on one side of the car to pull you back in the lane while the steering wheel vibrates. Distronic I loved, it keeps a distance from the car in front of you while driving in cruise control. It will even come to a complete stop in traffic. Pull on the cruise control stalk and off you go again. Night vision I used going to the cottage or on really dark roads where I think there are animals crossing etc.

thanks for the feedback
looks like intelligent drive has distronic plus with steering assist and the w222 does turn the wheel by itself some
but that is the main difference i am seeing
posted on the 212 and 222 forum and hope for feedback
when i find out more will update this post
