Welcome to the board ********! You'll find lots of knowledgeable members here willing and eager to help. In order to remove the chrome trim, take any flat head screwdriver and pry it up. It should just pop right out. If that doesn't work, then drill a hole through the trim in a non conspicuous place, insert a nail with a sharp bend so it grabs the trim, tie some metal fishing line to the other end of nail. Make sure you have plenty off fishing line. Then tie that line to a tree and slowly accelerate until the trim gently comes off. When it's time for reinstallation, just apply a bunch of Gorilla Glue and stick it back on. It'll be a perfect job for a perfectionist.

Hi, here is what wis has to say (pdf attached), not very helpfull but here it is anyway. Mercedes recomend a nylon prybar as shown at the end.
May be similar to whats in this video:
(about half way through)
If that's not the same have a dig for other later models that may be similar.
Lots of other cars have trim that is designed to be installed and then replaced after they are removed or all the clips replaced if the trim comes off without damage.
What ever you do go slow and gentle, and if you do have to pry with a screw driver cover it in tape and protect the paint from damage by placing something underneath so the load is spread across a wider area.
BTW: I hope your enjoying you car as I sure do although in my case, the only difference is I sometimes get to drive it on the autobahn.
Cheers.
