I have a technical question I need assistance with.
Does anyone know if the Parking Distance sensor system uses the stereo for the parking beep notifications, or are the audio generators a separate system from the stereo?
My old BMW used the stereo speakers for the parking tones.
My newer Audi has separate tone generators for the parking beeps.
I need to know how my 2012 W221 S63 AMG works because I am planning a major stereo system upgrade and I need to know whether or not I must leave some of the factory speakers in place to retain the parking distance beeps?
I was listening to my car yesterday, and it seems the front sensors issue beeps from the instrument cluster.
The rear sensors beep from the rear of the car but I can't pinpoint the location as coming from a speaker yet.
I'm going to be adding one of these where the CD changer is located. It will become the main audio source unit, but I didn't want to lose my parking assist beeps. Looks like I'll be ok.
