Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and need some assistance. I have a 2008 S550 last week the Comand Head Unit died and went out, my mechanic replaced with a remanfactured unit that came with a 1 year warranty. The new unit works fine but is missing all my old features such as backup camera, video icon is missing, Aux feature on audio drop down.

Will a Comand software update fix this issue? If not any help is greatly appreciated.

Replacing the COMAND unit is not a simple plug and play procedure. The unit needs to be "married" to your car via STAR and have the missing features turned on. If your mechanic doesn't have STAR or know how to properly program with it, then you need to get it to your local dealer to have it done. If you have birds-eye view in your NAV and DVD video, then the update has already been done to the unit.

Update, I went to (2) dealers in the Atlanta so far and they wouldn't code for me? Not sure how I can get them to do this for me. Thoughts?

Look for Indy with scn coding capabilities. Unless you know somebody at a dealership (which apparently you don't...)
