Keyless Go and Starter Battery Issues

My 2008 S550 car has Keyless Go and after replacing the starter battery the Keyless Go start button stopped working. It was working fine before the battery replacement but I let the car sit for 3 months so the starter battery was completely done. When I push the button it does nothing at all.

Is there something I can do to get the keyless go to work again? I have 2 sets of keys and only tried one of them with it in my pocket.

It is likely your accessory battery that has gone bad....the one in the trunk behind the rear seat.

All my lights and everything still turn on when I start the car. Would it still do that if it was the accessory battery?

Yes, all of that stuff will turn on after the car is started, even with a nearly dead accessory battery. If you let your car sit for a day or two and your interior lights don't turn on or they missing key chime doesn't start when opening the door, then you know you have a discharged accessory battery. Also, some systems will automatically shut down to save energy, such as Keyless Go, Distronic parking, and several other non-essential systems. You will probably want to get the battery load tested to see if it warrants replacement.
