warranty

I would suggest, if you haven't already purchased, get one from the dealer. Look for coverage on struts, sensors, door closers, parking and rearview camera (if you have one), trunk opener and a few other things i know i'm missing. Your coverage will probably depend on the state you live in and you can expect to pay anywhere from 2200 to 5400 for 2 to 3 years

Yeah, I had an EasyCare warranty on my 04 430. When I bought it with 30k miles it was $4k. At 70k it expired and the renewal was $9k, and that's on a car they knew and had experience with. Nobody is writing coverage worth anything at 97k miles.

WARRANTY?
Reality can be brutal! I would check your local credit unions to see if they would offer anything. I bought a 5 year, 50k warranty at my local credit union on a 2007 E350 with 49,000 miles, almost 4 years ago. It was far less than other quotes I received. That said you are looking for a unicorn. I would either pass on the car, or self fund your repairs. Good Luck!

That's shocking that they would offer any kind of coverage on that car with those miles, especially exclusionary coverage....even if it's only for 1 year. I'd only buy it if the car was a steal and I was only going to keep it for 12 months and not go over the mileage of the warranty. That car is a financial disaster just waiting to happen.
Don't you have to be a military member or have a family that was a military member to be eligible to join USAA?

You may be able to get it direct from them. I wonder if the prices would be different?

So what is the market for these high mileage cars. They must go somewhere. I plan on selling my 12 in another year or so with 50-60K miles on the clock. I just cant believe the depreciation, that is why I only buy used but still they must have some value after only 10 years and 100K. Guessing they turn into hoop-ties.

This guy is worth a try:
Hal J. Moses
President Auto Advantage Inc

Personally I have not used him but a close friend of mine has on multiple occasions and speaks highly of Hal. I did speak with him but ended up going with the Mercedes sponsored warranty.

Well after the 3 N0x sensors, rear tube, and the lower oil seal replacements, my car has been trouble free "Fingers Crossed" Additionally with the exception of the lower oil seal, the issues were not very expensive to get repaired.
