mercedes benz service department
i had a couple of issues with my s-550, so took it to the local mb dealership, excuse me i live in macon, ga. and we only have one mb dealership. the issues that i had viberation when accellerating, right front air strut lower than left, drivers door armrest leather stretched, and cup holder cover inop.all under warranty, droped off car at apointment time monday morning at 8:00 am, on march 6, was told that the items would take about three days to repair, i got my car back on wednesday march 14, after going to dealership for the third time, all work was completed but the service rep. let my car sit for four days with no mechanic touching it. after speaking with the service manager about the poor service i recieved. this service manager did offer an apology for the dealership and zeroed my bill for the inconvience, i would like to thank the service manager for trying to make this right.

Did they complete the repairs to a satisfactory level? Did they give you a free loaner car during the time it was in for service? If so, I'm not sure what you're complaining about. I never mind putting the miles on a new Benz loaner instead of my car.

the complaint was that they did not finish my car when promised, let my car sit with no mechanic touching it for four days plus weekend, this is not a way to run a service department, i all so realize that this is very poor customer service, they completed all work on my car but they only had 9 hours of labor involved in the repairs

Service departments get backed up sometimes. This applies to all dealerships of all brands. If the work was done properly and they gave you a loaner car while it was in, you should be happy. Complaining in this forum isn't going to make things happen quicker with that dealership.

there are busy. repair lengths are estimated and vehicle intake load/ rate calculated accordingly. however - as techs are specialized for example the electronics guy might encounter a tough diagnosis and quickly fall behind on his schedule. i have seen on many occasions say a 4 hour book repair take 3 full days because of complications. when this happens - cars gets pushed out - including the ones already taken in.
hope this helps.

That would be a pretty crappy dealership that would downgrade an S-class owner all the way down to a C, or worse yet a CLA. The dealership I take my car to doesn't have any S loaners, but they would never put an S-class owner in a C. Either E, GLS, or GLE if they are running short on loaners.

Yes I agree. Their excuse was that the loaner program was new and that's all they had. They were much better than the previous dealership I had visited near where we used to live. However, the best was where I worked. They handled everything on the phone, came to my job and picked up the vehicle, left a loaner and returned the vehicle washed and ready to go two days later as promised.
Too bad they don't service my current area

I only had a dealership ask me if I would take a C-class once, but I really don't mind it. Lets me see what new features they have added to it since I had my 2008 C300 4MATIC.
