Device unavailable
For some reason my command unit stopped functioning properly as I was driving. The radio seems to be stuck on the station that was on when it stopped working, the satellite radio gives a "device available" reading, the nav works display wise but I cannot get any sound from any items. I am due for a battery change so I am hoping this is tied to that. Has anyone ever had any experience with the command system behaving this way? Any guidance/feedback that can be provided will be appreciated.

I know it’s going back a while but did you get a fix? I brought a 2012 W221 with a faulty command head unit. I sourced the same model from eBay and popped it in. The screen is back with all car controls working, but I get "device unavailable" on radio, no sound on Bluetooth or other inputs either. Now I don’t think these units have to be recoded, if the functions match your car options but could be wrong. An indi specialist couldn’t diagnose it, I suspect the amp may also be knackered but if this is software related it should be easy to resolve?
