lowbeam not working

first let me say that this might already be a thread but I have googled the subject on this forum and everyone says different things so I want to see if I can get some updates as to what was wrong with others.

my problem is my 09 s550 right side low beam is not working. first the command said to check right side low beam. I bought a bulb installed and still nothing. I pulled the battery wire and reset the sys. the command said right low beam dipped. but the bulb don't work. I have researched and seems like most people think the SAM could be the problem. the only problem I have with this is nothing else is affected. I have no other problems with the car. or anything that the left side SAM controls. the only other thing I can think of is the ballast is bad. I have heard if you change the whole head lamp you have to have it programed, would this be the case for the ballast? and has anyone solved a similar problem? thanks

check ballasts first (try switching left to right right to left) if it still dont work it might be something more serious

so just as an update to the low beam, it was the ballast and you don't need to remove the head lamps to replace. the ballast was $84 on ebay but there are different ones so just make sure to get the one that's like the one in your car
