Can I run CLS63 (W219) rims on my W221?

Hello all!

I just purchased a set of beautiful AMG rims thinking they were meant for the W221 S Class, but just received them and realized they are CLS63 rims.

They are 8.5" R19 et25 fronts and 9.5" R19 et28 rears... not the ET43 I was expecting.

The result of running on them would be that the fronts would stick out by 18mm more than designed, and the rears by about the same.

I'm reasonably sure the rears will be OK...but will the wider stance on the fronts screw something up?

I don't know what to do as I spent a bunch of money not knowing these things existed and believing they were what I'd seen on so many beautiful S classes...and now i've got these pretty rims with the low offset and am wondering if they are any good...

Pic of the rims I thought I was buying

This is what I thought I ordered. Staggered AMG style rims with an et43 offset all around.

This is what I actually got. Staggered with an ET25/28.

Mount one up and see how they look. Might be OK. I had ET35 MM wheels on my car at one point with 13MM spacers in the rear and with the spacer they were flush with the fender. My guess is they will fit fine and be flush with the fenders. Don't think you will hurt anything.

Schwartz,

Thanks for the tip. This was the results of the calculations for the fronts and backs:

Fronts: 8.5 et43 -> 8.5 et25

Inner Clearance: 18mm MORE (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)

Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 18mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

Rears: 8.5 et43 -> 9.5 et28

Inner Clearance: 2mm MORE (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)

Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 28mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)
