Help with 722.9 transmission issue
Please can someone help. We did some clean uo and refill with the transmission of a w221 s550, it was slipping badly, sometimes it will jump into limp mode. After the service, we put in transmission oil; truthfully we couldnt get the approved 722.9 atf 134 oil so we used the mercedes atf (really were in a tight spot). We're in Africa and its practically impossible to get this oil and we had not time to import from Amazon as we always do.
Now we mounted the plates and body and put the oil back in. Started the car, put in gears and rev up, it will fire and move so little. We then used the star system to teach the tranmission and it drove just perfectly until the next morning. It wouldnt move again. We pushed it in limp for 5 minutes and used das to teach and it drove again. Until the next morning.
can someone help us with some direction. It seems it kind of resets after hours or could we be dealing with oil quality, filter?
thanks for any help.

Are you sure your oil level is correct? It sounds like it works when hot and when hot the oil level goes up.
Either that or the wrong fluid works when hot and slips when cold. Hard to tell.

Are you sure you used the correct fluid? The newer year W221 vehicles use a different fluid than the first couple of years of production. Mercedes manufactures a large number of vehicles in South Africa which should make fluid readily available there. All Mercedes dealers as well as independents who specialize in Mercedes vehicles should have the correct fluid for your vehicle readily available.
