PLEASE! Help needed with TPMS on my 2010 W221

Hello all! I'm excited to be apart of the Benz community. This is my second W221, and I love the car. I also own a 2013 Black Edition GTR with 1100WHP and a Mustang Boss 302. I'm a car enthusiast at heart.

I'm having trouble thought with my newly purchased 2010 S550 4Matic.

When I purchased my car, 20 miles outside of the dealership my TPMS light came on - "TPMS inoperative, no wheel sensors found". The car was equipped with S63 AMG wheels. Not sure if there were actual TPMS sensors in the wheels, but oh well.

I purchased brand new wheels to put on the car, along with new TPMS sensors. I checked with my local MB dealer to make sure I was buying the proper frequency (433Mhz), and bought some on Ebay for $127 that were a plug and play option that were reviewed very well.

Took it to my local European shop. No matter what we did, "TPMS inoperative, no wheel sensors found". They used their little tool to try and set and activate them, and got a reading, but the car is not recognizing them.

I wanna pull my hair out!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you,

Dave

Take it back to dealer, have them pull fault codes with MB DAS and request no cost repair – “may” be control unit.

correct. wheel sensor unit needs to be interrogated with star/ das and sensors might need to be rediscovered. this will also confirm control module go/ no go. it is possible the unit was swapped in the past for another one with different frequency range. the version of the unit will tell what is what.

So you're saying I need someone with a MB diagnostics tool to figure out the first part? And where can I find which TPS module I have?

Haven't done one in a while, but if memory serves me right star will tell you the version of the unit
