W221 S63 - Alternator/Battery Issues

Guys i really need advise.

today while driving my comand shows a message 'Start car or Comand will switch off in 3 minutes'. Awkward since i am cruising at 60MPH.

then i quickly go check the voltage on the AMG menu and to my surprise it is 11.6V. Usually while driving its between 13.7V and 14.2V.

it is the alternator but i am still researching before spending the $$$$$$.

are there any other fuses I need to check or anything else I need to check before jumping to my final conclusion - change the alternator.

Your issue is not a fuse----I would have the cars starting system load tested before I did anything!

Whoa. Before you spring for an alternator remove battery, fully charge and load test. If battery is good then consider an alternator.

Check your accessory belt tension too.

Thanks guys. I am still leaning towards the alternator as there is no voltage from the alternator to the battery.
will report back with results

And? Am going through the same issue. Alternator is fine with the voltage, changes trunk batter still same problem. Ppl are saying it's the voltage regulator? Help
