Aftermarket Replica Wheels not Accepting Stock TPMS Sensor?
Hey guys,
So I got a replacement set of wheels on my 07 S600 yesterday. The tire shop said that the length of the stem on the TPMS (which are the original TPMS from the original wheels) was not long enough which would cause leaks.
The wheels they took off the car were aftermarket MHT wheels and they had 2 holes, one for a standard tire stem, and one for the sensor to be inserted in.
Does anyone have an idea of what NEW sensor I may need, or if there is just something wrong here? It seems strange to me that my replica wheels wouldn't accept a factory TPMS.

If I'm reading it right, there were aftermarket wheels on the car originally and you're replacing those? The OEM wheels have a single integrated valve stem and TPMS. They use a single hole. I've never had a rep that wouldn't take an OEM valve stem assembly. It's possible your existing wheels have aftermarket sensors (that are the correct frequency). Might need to pick up a set of OEM sensors.
